161st St. Experience Now Available

Bronx native, Sean Taylor, performed this summer for a block party on 161st Street in the Bronx. We were on hand to film and record the event. The resulting EP, The 161st St. Experience, is now available online. You can also view the concert from our YouTube channel.

Who is Sean Taylor? A proper title suit for this gentleman is an ENTERTAINER. He is an innovator, singer-songwriter, trumpeter, dancer, actor, and more. Sean Taylor hails from the Uptown Wakefield section of the Boogie Down Bronx and is of Jamaican descent. Sean Taylor will soon be a household name in every community worldwide. He has performed on Broadway in the critically acclaimed play “Caroline or Change” directed by George Wolfe and has been featured on numerous TV commercials. He was sought after by Lil’ Kim to provide the triumphant TRUMPET blast for her royal-themed celebrity baby shower which aired on WeTV to millions of viewers. Also, he has toured and worked with many notable names in the music industry such as the legendary DJ Kool Herc, Masta Ace, General DV (Alias Khryst), Jadakiss, Skyzoo, Torae, Just Blaze, Statik Selektah, Illmind, and more. Where the music is concerned; his music is a fusion of R&B/Soul, Jazz, Hip-Hop, reggae, and dancehall. “Try cooking the smooth sounds of Smokey Robinson and Michael Jackson, the charisma of Sammie Davis, Jr. and Louis Armstrong, the rhythm feel and dance athleticism like James Brown and The Nicholas Brothers, the trumpet sounds of Miles Davis and Clifford Brown all in one melting pot…now you have Sean Taylor.” With all these gifts rolled up into one person, he lets his talent shine through on every tune. Shining Star Forever!

Knitting Factory Concert

Join us on Tuesday, June 13th at The Knitting Factory Brooklyn for Vajra, City of the Weak, and June Divided. A great night of music will be made immortal as we record and film the performance for eventual release. So, come be a part of history and hear some of the best emerging Rock bands. Just don’t yell ‘Freebird’. No one likes that guy.
JUNE DIVIDED Philadelphia’s indie rock/pop outfit, June Divided, consists of Melissa Menago (guitar, keys, vocals), Chris Kissel (guitar), Keith Gill (drums), and Lenny Sasso (bass, synth). They have shared the stage with Twenty One Pilots, Rise Against, The Pretty Reckless, Walk The Moon, Tegan and Sara, and were seen on Warped Tour, MTVu and at SXSW. June Divided released their new EP, Body Wars, in December of 2016.
CITY OF THE WEAK From small town Montana to the streets of Minneapolis with a guitar and a fearless attitude. That’s how it all started for firecracker Stef w/ an F as she began building City of the Weak 4 years ago as a teenager. Add fierce guitarist Brent Lindblad & powerhouse Cody on bass and they became the unstoppable force they are today. With festivals like Chicago Open Air, Northern Invasion, Warped Tour dates, South by So What?!, and Rock Fest under their belt, they are quickly becoming a crowd favorite at every live appearance. They began touring in 2012, and by Spring 2014 were rolling across the country full time, clocking around 120 shows a year.

City of the Weak captures a modern rock ‘n roll sound that is so perfectly defined, combining catchy pop melodies with rhythmic riffs and moving bass lines to create a genre of their own. They are best known for their intensity on stage, as well as their big personalities off the stage. They are currently on tour with Adelitas Way & Cilver, and will be co-headlining the BlondTOURage Tour with Scarlet Canary later this month. Their first full-length album, produced by Craig Owens, will be available Spring 2017. Like Muen Magazine said, “City of the Weak is going to be a band to look out for in 2017 and beyond,” and you’re damn right they are.

VAJRA “It’s time to get to know Vajra” according to Loudwire Magazine. Dubbed a “Must-See Act” by Rolling Stone Magazine and one of the “Most underrated bands” by AXS Magazine, Vajra uniquely blends hauntingly dark and hypnotic melodic, progressive rock with Eastern Indian themes into foreboding and mysterious lullabies. “Their live show is like a cathartic punch in the face” according to Creem Magazine, and they were accordingly selected to perform at the Loudwire Music Festival 2015 and Rock-fest 2016, CMJ and SXSW. Vajra’s DIY videos for two of their singles were both on the Loudwire Top 10 Rock & Metal Video Countdown for a combined total of 24 weeks and were subsequently retired as the longest tenured videos on the Countdown. The band also was #1 of the Reverbnation Alternative Rock Music Chart for NYC for 10 consecutive weeks and one of their singles was #37 on the Under The Radar Chart.

Vajra was formed by composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist, Annamaria Pinna during her self-imposed exile in India. The child of a former monk and school teacher, Annamaria was encouraged to learn about the world around her and to question her assumptions. She believes there is divinity in creativity. Annamaria has a neurological condition called synesthesia, where she attaches color and shapes to sound. Vajra’s debut album “Pleroma” was released on the Summer Solstice, 2012 (6.21.12). Pleroma is an exploration in paradox (east vs west, soft vs pummelling, female vs male) and includes Blake Fleming (ex-The Mars Volta) on drums. Sylvia Massy (Tool, System of A Down, Prince, Johnny Cash) co-produced the vocals and mixed. Tom Baker (NIN, Foo Fighters, Ministry, Prince) mastered.
